Marken is a tiny peninsula in Noord-Holland. The settlement spotted by traditional dutch houses of green-white colors. If you are there you should also visit the neigbour settlements Monnickendam and Volendam. There is a cruise suttle between Marken and Volendam,it's wort to take a ride on the lake.Fabulous. If you like the mixture of nature and beauty, go to Marken ! You'll never forget these minutes spent there ! And additionally if you taste the freshly made pannenkoeken ( pancake ) your stay will not be a waste of time at all !!! Me and my Wife spent 3 nights on the peninsula of Marken, and ,i can tell you,we enjoyed every minute of our stay !!!

Great location, very nice breakfast, very kind staff managing the "Hof". The building is made of wood. Wooden walls also separate each room. This is part of the charm of the place, which is built in the same style of the houses of the village, but this also mean there is no insoronization in the rooms ... Anyhow, we did't mind at all, since all other guests staying at the Hof Van Marken with us were peolpe who like quiet and privacy and who would rather be in such a lovely place than to be in a busy and noisy city. By the way, Amsterdam is just a few minutes drive from Hof Van Marken: the perfect place to be!

Lovely place in old village with marina. Very quite in opposite to Amsterdam ( 40 min by bus every half an hour). Small restaurant with bar downstairs. During uor stay there was special menu of local cuisine. Breakefast was fresh and tasty.
A little problem with bringing lagguage because the parking is about 600 m away. Rather small bathroom but with big shower.

This hotel is very nice and comfortable, and I can suggest for everybody cause this island is beautiful and people are friendly. I can tell only good about this hotel. Staff is helpful and kind, accomodation is adequate.

Location is really pleasant and relaxing, interior is splendid and exterior is charming. Breakfast is home made with high care and quality, it makes a difference. Host is willing you to feel well. Room is comfortable and quiet.
Be aware that you come into an island, and car traffic and parking is different - very easy when you know how. Get your information before arriving.
